So What Are CEREC Crowns?
CEREC stands for Ceramic Reconstruction. It is the process of using ceramic materials to construct crowns to repair damaged teeth. The process begins with a visit to a dentist who has the necessary equipment in the office. A 3D scan of the mouth is taken and this is captured and transferred into a Computer Aided Design program. Then the scan is used to design and Computer Aided Manufacturing is used to produce the ceramic crown. The crown is made using either traditional milling techniques or 3D printers.
